Safe to Tow a Short Distance with Driveshaft on?

I moved away to Hawaii and returned to Wisconsin to find dad had ripped out all the interior to do a hack job stereo install (which I'm reverting to stock). He also claims to have left the top down while it rained and decided to pull out the carpet and insisted he threw it in the trash.

Fast forward 10 years, the car still sits where it was left with only 48k miles; completely pulled apart inside. I spent a lot of time locating replacement carpet. However, one day I found it hidden on the top of a tall storage shelf and now I am going to put the car back together.

However, some years ago I found that it no longer has fuel pressure but will start briefly if I dump gas down the TB. It also smells like mouse piss everywhere. Mice pee'd on the circuit board that contains the fuel pump relay and I resoldered the corroded solder joints and same issue exists.

The main concern right now is to pull it out of the dark, dirt floor shed so that I can actually work on it and see what I'm doing. It's a 6-speed manual. Would it be safe to tow it about 300 yards in neutral or would it cause damage without removing the driveshaft?

300 yards is nothing.

The rear shouldn't be locked up. It will move.

It just needs a light buff and ready for the road trip to the nearest 300 foot cliff!
Don't forget to thank your dad for his custom work.....

It looks horrible but I wonder if it really IS all that bad, under the dirt? I'd expect a lot of issues with hydraulics and fuel injectors, as well as seals and bushings.
But that does not mean you can't bring it back to life. On the other hand, there could be surface rust in the cylinders by now.....

Body is fine under all that dust I don't have a problem fixing electrical. It just takes time. I'm going to attempt to jump the fuel pump connector terminals and see if I can redneck drive it out.

You will need a new battery and two for the FOB. Try to re-synchronize the FOB to the SKREEM. Clean the air path; After checking oil level see if it turns over.

GOOD LUCK ! We all have to keep them running, don't want to go extinct
