Hatch lock paddle doesn't return.

The doors and hatch unlock normally with the FOB. When opening the hatch, after unlocking, the hand operated paddle does not return. It's necessary to use fingers to pull it back down. "What makes it return to the normal state?" Is it a spring or vacuum process or something else? Yes I sprayed lube in there to no avail.

Re: Hatch lock paddle doesn't return.

IT is spring loaded, but if the mechanism is corroded I imagine it could stick due to that.
I think you are going to end up pulling the trim off, removing the screws and getting the assembly out where you can work on it. From the experience I've had with the Roadster trunk latch assembly, spraying anything in there won't get far enough to do enough good.

Thanks pizzaguy for the tip!
