Default Fan motor campaign to be performed/ horror stories?

So my car is at the dealer for the heated seat failure and they find that the fan motor campaign had not been done. Anyone ever have any bad experiences with this campaign? Why did they need to do this campaign? I've had no problems.

There was a TSB on the cooling fan being assembled wrong, I have not heard any horror stories about the fix.

Thanks. I'm nervous enough about how the seat repair will turn out.

The fan fix is easy, no big deal. Had mine done 2 years ago. I too am more nervous about the seat heater fix.

Picked up my car and no problems with seat repair or fan recall. I noticed the fan sounds louder and more powerful.

My fan motor went bad on my '04 Coupe, but it wasn't covered under the recall because my build date wasn't in their range. I just put in a new shroud and fan assembly myself. Not hard at all to do. Why would I want to replace my bad part with another overpriced junk Benz part that may fail again later.

I had my heated seat replaced in the drivers side under warranty and as soon as it ran out the passenger side failed.

So much for MB quality.

I doubt the heated seats are MB.

I think that the heated seat pads are made by Lear Mfg.

Mercedes Benz does not make many parts if any, it puts cars together using parts made by suppliers. The parts have to meet MB standards. Lets face it s**t happens.

My first real winter with my 2005 Roadster. Not sure if I have a seat problem or not but only the backs of the seats heat. Is that working properly or should the seat bottoms be heating as well?

Seat backs and seat cushions are heated. There's lots of threads on this. Try this:
