If you have pissed someone off or have some pranksters around you could have two potato's shoved up your exhaust pipe.

Mine is a 2004 and my CPS went out. car would turn over, just didnt start. ran the code said it was the CPS, took it to the dealer, they said it was the CPS, replaced it and car runs fine. So the car will turn over even if the CPS is bad.

Have you thought of putting the old fuel filter back on and trying it?
It is not just a filter as there is a pressure regulator in it as well and that may have failed.
I always believe in trying the simple things first. It may be just a coincidence that you have a problem now but ......
Why did you change the filter, mileage or problems?

You need to spend more time on the forum!
All of us "regulars" know that the car WILL crank with a bad CPS.
Check out this thread for more on the CPS problem.
