Default Rear view mirrors set up for safe driving

I use the following method to adjust the mirrors. When you become confident in its use and providing you have the setup correct you can avoid turning your head too much.

This article appeared in the Toronto Star some years ago and was written by Jim Kenzie one of the best automotive journalists in Canada. I told my wife that she could look at the side of her car anytime she wanted but not in the mirrors while she was driving.

I posted this six years ago but lately people here have complained of blind spots in the Crossfire. Use this method and there will be no blind spots.

I was taught this at the age of 12 (dad) and again at 15 (school Driver's Ed).

Apparently, my observant friend, they dropped it from the curriculum, everywhere, in ~ 1977.

Would you agree?

I would agree with you 100%.
With the mirrors set up just right you have an instant view of what is behind you. Frequent use of the mirrors should give you an idea at any time of what and where the cars are behind you.

Yeh, most folks have all mirrors angled to see themselves not other drivers! LOL.

Gonna have to give this a try - that dang right side blind spot could hide a tractor-trailer at times!!
