Fss Indicator.

The FSS indicator is showing that my car is due a service.
The car was serviced when I bought it 9 months old with 6,000 miles on it.
I have owned it for 11 months and done 4,000 miles.
I suspect that they never reset the FSS hence it is showing it is now due a service.
I will be getting it serviced in a month anyway because the service schedule states 10,000 miles or 12 months.
Oh it also states that it is due an A service when in fact it will be due a B service which is why I suspect that they never reset the FSS where I bought the car.
Is it okay to run like this or should I have it serviced now?
Any help is appreciated as always.

Re: Fss Indicator.

NORRIE,

it doesn't matter; once you reset the FSS if the car needs A it will show only one wrench if it needs B it will show two wrenches. You should not need Service B this early on you will probably need it at around 15k (or like me 18k miles) or when your dual wrench comes on. There is no individual reset for service A or B there is just one main reset; it is a overall master reset and the system will then tell you which one it needs either A or B. What you need is probably service A.

Re: Fss Indicator.

The wrench being on is just a reminder not a trouble light.
The oil change one will come up on time "days" not just mileage.
