UK Crossfire Meets 2009 - POST THEM HERE
There have already been various interesting ideas for 2009 meets - i.e. Cars In The Park, Wheels Day, Scotland, France, PT Cruiser Meets etc. If you wish to organise a meet, why not add a post to this thread with details of date, location, any web links to events etc so we can put our programme together for 2009.
Here are some suggestions so far
How about some proposals with dates - then we will be able to plan ahead!
Please comment on the above suggestions, and add yours into the thread for inclusion here

(1) The New Forest in Hampshire and surrounding area's have some great attractions and would make for a good meet location. Its would worth staying over one night locally as there is so much to see and do ( as mentioned in an earlier post)
Have a look on the net re New Forest aera. Suggestion of where to visit etc from interested party's would be halpful. Chris (Lissxf) has much experience' with the PT Cruiser's Club arranging meet's in this area and has offered his assistance.
(2) A Crossfire long weekend cruise to France, along the coast and staying in local budget accommodition and then home would be a fantastic trip. Any takers or thoughts on this idea.
(3) Perhaps a Xfire cruise to Scotland starting from the South with other Xfire's joining along the way, and again staying in budget accommodation.
All the above in the spring or summer time.
Ken.

You guys and gals over in the UK are so organized...
Great Job!!
I suggested the 2009 Lichfield "Cars in the Park" event onthe 4th/5th July. The organisors are happy for us to go. This is an annual event that raises money for charity and comprises an eclectic mix of cars in , as the name suggests, a park !
They would welcome a Crossfire group. We would have a marked area and I have access to a Marquee. The event attracts thousands of visitors who all come along and admire the cars. There is an arena for displays and you can camp if you wish. This would be a great opportunity to show off our cars !
Lichfield ( where I live ) is blessed with several hotels, B&B, real ale pubs etc including one real ale pub with a cheese counter and also a number of tourist attractions and shops. The park is next to the town center so most things are within 10 minutes walk.
Anyone turning up to display at the event will need to register beforehand and pay to cover insurance etc that also helps to contribute to the finances of running the event. The cost this year was £4 a car.

I have placed a couple of pictures from this year in my gallery.
I suppose the question is , do we want to attend such an organised event and "be on display" all day, or do we want a more casual meet up. If we prefer the latter then there are alternative midlands locations that I could select for what is becoming an almost traditional stately home and meal day out.
I also like the idea of a motorsport day of some description, even if it is spectating, or some folk particpating at an entry level thing such as the drag racing.

How about a trip the McLaren's F1 new engine facility? I may be able to get a tour for a small group of us - I will ask when I am next there.

New Forest is also a venue I could do. France - I’ve never driven on the continent, so I’m a little more cautious about that one. A vote for The Tunnel on this one, I think. A haul to Scotland could be a laugh too.

Anything more about the Car in the Park lark in the summer? I seem to recall that now is the time to book - if we are doing a joint or group booking, I presume we need to coordinate.
Hi Paul,
This meet was kindly proposad by beeblebrox (Paul) and I understand he will be organising this meet. It looks like an established, good event and would ideal for us because there is plenty to see and do. I expect Paul will be waiting to see the level of interest here before he commits. As it is, judging by the lack of activity nowadays here on the forum, especially on this topic, there seems to be little interest in doing anything about anything. Chriss (lissxf) also has a good plan for an Easter meet and I expect is also waiting for a response before he can move his proposal forward. Is this the begining of the end...........I hope not...........

I intend to catch up with another meet this year. I hope Ken has learnt to reverse by now
. I found a great place for a meet. Bangkok - it's supurb - and they drive on the left as well. You can even get your Xfire converted to CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) with a top speed of 80mph LOL. Not sure where you would put the gas tank in an Xfire though and a rear end accident sounds really explosive

Hi All.
Steve, O ye of little faith..the begining of the end! Only a month-ish ago we held our Xmas lunch and had a good turnout.
I'm certain that once the weather becomes a little warmer, thoughts of Crossfire meets will encrouge us all to remember our excellent garthings and locations of 2008 and make 2009 even more fun.
Chris (Lissxf) and I spoke last year about arranging a meet in the New Forest on the South Coast. I will chat to him soon and then confirm dates etc... Would love a long weekend Crossfire tour here or in France as mentioned before...any takers!
Still awaiting deliver of my Xfire calenders ordered 6th Jan.
A very belated healthy and happy New Year to all Crossfire owners here in the UK and around the rest of the world.
