Arrrrggghhhhh! breakdown time :-(
Well wouldn't you know it, smooth running for 2.5 days then, in the Czech Republic, it happens: we get back to the car and.... no start
I rather suspect it's our friend the RCM module but being as I make a drunken warthog look technically minded & I'm 742miles from the UK it's not looking good. If you thought that Merc thought we owned the red-headed stepchild before - just try it now, now that FIAT have us. The only thing I've got working for me at the moment is I'm with the ADAC... oh well c'est la vie
Will let you know tomorrow what the score is

Well it could have been a lot worse I guess.... turns out the problem was of all things a totally borked starter motor - a fix has been done but they were at pains to point out that this was a 'work-around' and not a solution (a new started motor would have taken over 3 days!!!). Sooo I now need to buy a new starter motor now that I'm back in blighty!
Thanks dude - as you probably guessed I made it back no problems.... however I've now got to price up a starter motor, new thread coming shortly

thanks for that dude - a very timely response as the quick-fix has proved to be just that!! Left SWMBO stranded so phone calls are being made and repairs being booked
And to think you were trying to get me to buy that a couple of weeks ago
Hope you get it sorted
Lmao - to tell the truth though that's the (hows that for alliteration!) 1st thing that's gone wrong so it's still 'in credit' with me
