Default What tyres?

Just passed my mot the other week with the only advisory my front tyres getting low!

At the moment I have Bridgestone potenza RE050A all round (rears are fine) but I found these follow anything they touch in the road such as white lines / grooves so what are you all running / suggest?

I ran 2 sets of Falken FK452's to the cords. I needed to find a UHP tire with a warranty. Nitto Motivo's have that!

Im currently running BFGoodrich g-force KDW2. Nice summer performance tire. Even wear and great cornering and wet traction. After these wear out my next set of tyres will probably be:

I run Avon ZZ5 on rear and will be using on front shortly as they are now available in 225/40/18 fairly quiet and grip well and as a plus made in UK, have a good rim flange protection and not amazingly expensive

Look at Barum tyres. They are made by Bridgestone, good value, quiet and feel sticky.... although I have not pushed them close to the limit.

Just to stick my nose in again Avon ZZ5 and Falken 453

One of the more comprehensive tyre review sites gave rating of 81% ZZ5 and 63% 453 which is why partly why I went for the Avons

(Tyre reviews, tests and ratings | the online tyre guide)

also

the new rating system gives fuel E Avon F Falken, Wet Grip both B noise Avon 70db Falken 72db so Avon a lot quieter (don't forget its a log scale)

certainly the rear grip is far better now than the Cooper CS6 from before which also had a rating of 81% and C, C and 72db

ive also got bridgestone re050a on my car ,quite happy with the tyres and the car handles well , the tramlining you describe happens with most wide rims and tyres ,has anyone fitted 275/35 on the rear ? Ive been offered a couple of bridgestones which are virtually brand new ,they have only covered a couple of hundred miles , not sure if they will fit the rear rims or if they will foul the rear arches, any thoughts??

what profile are your tyres ? my local tyre supplier suggested I should be fitting 275/30 instead of 275/35 but I am confident the 275/35 bridgestones ive bought will be fine.

thats good enough for me , 275's will be on next week , i owned a 350bhp E55 amg on 285/30/20's and they were "fun" in the wet ,even the traction control couldnt keep it in a straight line , hopefully the crossfire will be a bit more forgiving
