Default '05 Black Roadster for sale

I am looking to sell my Black 05 Crossfire roadster which carries the registration plate CR05FUN. I have had it for 2 years and enjoyed it immensely, garaged it, and I only ever go out when its dry and warm enough to drop the hood. I have done 6 of its 52k miles and it has been garage maintained with oil changes between services. She was recently machine polished and had most of her blemishes removed and the alloys fettled. While not perfect she looks great to my amateur eye and attracts lots of admiring glances where ever I take her. My dilemma is what is she worth ??? There seems to be a ridiculous difference between the prices asked for cars that to me look similar. I would welcome any advice or input from the group as to the best way to pass her on to a new owner at a fair price.

Well as a guide I paid Ł5700 at a dealer (no trade in) 6 months ago for my 04 with 55k and it probably wasn't as tidy as yours, I had to get the wheels refurbed and the arch lips de-bubbled to bring it up to what I would call a 9/10 car - so you must be looking around 6k not taking the plate into account.

Try this site for a value How much is my car worth? Get a free car valuation on DesperateSeller.co.uk it seems pretty accurate.

Just make sure to add the mileage and then click the 'adjust mileage' button not the 'get valuation' button or it doesn't adjust the mileage

Edit - I forgot to add that book prices don't take into account supply and demand, when I was looking for mine there was a total of something like 7 manual roadsters for sale on autotrader in the whole of the UK, and because I didn't want black this brought the total down to 4, the dealer I was buying from had done his homework and hence was prepared to hold out for the price he wanted which was over top book.

Tricky to price our cars!! It seems that they are worth what you can get for it!!!
I would say yours would be a 4.5k motor. But you could ask more and get it, you never know!

Good luck with the sale.

My point exactly!!! 5.7k for an 04 is top money. An 04 in mint 5k tops!

Agreed it was top money, but I realised quite early in my search that unless I was very lucky I was going to be paying over the book value as there was so few manual roadsters for sale at the time, even less if I didn't want a black one, and believe me I searched the whole of the UK repeatedly.

Given the summer that we've just had i'm guessing the roadster will remain a desirable purchase for many people and prices should remain strong, the only problem being that we are now entering the traditionally worst time to sell any type of rag top with winter fast approaching, and on the flip side when I bought mine we were entering the traditionally worst time to buy one with summer just around the corner!!

yes understand what you say :-) buying or selling Crossfires is always going to be a bit of a lottery. Only SRT's seem to have leveled out and fetching reasonable money, if you can find one :-)

Hi Middleman4

Is your car automatic or manual, I am keen on getting a crossfire convertible and I also live in Coventry. I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Elena

It is a manual. For those of you that asked I just went and took some pictures which I am happy to send if you have whatsapp or similar. Since the nice folks at Apple upgraded their OS my photo card reader does not work so it will take me a while to add them to the library on this site.

OK, OK............. 52k miles

Last MOT and Service August 2013, no problems whatsoever.
Its not perfects as I said buts its decent in every way. It will need one back tyre shortly and the heater is temperamental but that's it.

It never goes out in the rain (sometimes comes home wet though !!!) and is garaged from October till April other than those lovely sunny winter days.

If I don't find someone wiling to carry on looking after her I will lock her up till Spring again.

I think thats it.

Mike

Hi

Regrettably I have family commitments that weekend but I will definitely be attending meets in 2014, can't wait to show her off to family and friends.

Have a great weekend and I hope the sun is shining on the 13th for you all.

Cheers

Elena
