I'm a virgin!!!

Hello Crossfire people, ive just bought my first one,a black 56 convertible, one owner and only 41,000 on the clock.Ive been on the forum looking for valuable knowledge just as ive always done.My last car was an 04 Porsche Boxster S but i wanted something a bit more sedate but i am getting older!!The first thing i change on any car is the air filter with usually a K&N unit.On the Boxster it added 4mpg which is great on a 3.2 engine.Has anyone put an aftermarket filter on and if you have could i have the catalogue number just to be sure thanks.Ive looked at the OBK backbox from America but the import charges were £200!!It sounds better than the Magnaflow, again any advice would be welcome.Im also looking at changing the dashboard and instrument bulbs to blue or white/orange leds.Again any advice there is welcome.Im looking forward to owning this car and the information on here from around the world is excellent. Thanks Lee :D

Hi Lee and welcome to the mad house:cool: what part of the world are you

I run K&N nothing special, available everywhere, get them on ebay or the K&N web site;)

Why import a back box??? just have one custom made and tuned to the note you require! I had Magnaflow build the cat back system on my SRT Coupe around £500.

as for dash lights, cant see the need myself:confused:

Hope to see you at one of our meets;)

Hi Lee - congrats on making a wise choice.

Ah, so you're in t'north - excellent! :D
I often get down to the Warrington area - was just there on Tuesday.

Never come across real leather on door cards. It's a vinyl-type material - the centre panel colour varies according to the interior scheme but not actual leather - AFAIK.

Lee160 Except for the seats in Limited Crossfires and SRT6' there is no leather in the Crossie interior.

Welcome to our support group.

Re: I'm a virgin!!!

Lee160, no you wont find leather door cards;)

The stock off the shelf Magnaflow for the Limited is around £600 from Magnaflow, I have one on my Limites Coupe, got it for £103, yes £103!!! on ebay a few years ago. Magnaflow don't make a stock off the shelf system for the SRT-6 that is why I had one made, that way you can have it tuned to your preferred note:cool:

If you go down the custom made route, make sure you get a good quality box, don't buy cheap, but don't get conned into paying over the odds. Like I said, I paid £525 for a cat back system and that was a London Magnaflow agents price. sure upt north you should get an even better price than that.

Re: I'm a virgin!!!

Ive been installing Ring daylight running lights, map, boot and number plate leds. The last owner put bright white headlamp and fog bulbs but i need to do the side lights which look a bit of a pig to do.Ill be putting leds in those as well.I also changed the number plates and put the shaped rear plate on which looks great.Im looking at changing the head unit to an ipod unit. Now im not sure but it sounds like all the speakers are in the doors and theres nothing behind me.Theres no fader control so that must be the case.Does that mean ive got the standard set up?I read somewhere about fibre optic cables which i had on my Boxster so if you wanted to change anything you had to change everything!!!This forum is the best ive been on over the years for cars.As for the door cards ive got used to them now ;)
