Hi Alphacat, welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you got a good deal there. I just recently purchased a Crossfire too. Great car for the money.

Good to see another Northerner too. :D

Congratulations !!! Enjoy it !
( reading the thread title made me think : at my age, £4500 wouldn't be too much if I could buy one new member ;) )

LOL, I read it that way too.
If you read some of the titles they scream for a comeback.
Like this one "throttle surges in park" simple answer is do not go to the park again.

Nice move Alpha, I bought mine as a second car, but find I use it 90% of the time now.

They really are a second hand bargain, the best kept secret of the sports car market, and being rarer than the SLK320 they create a lot of interest Which means they should always be easy to sell on.

Running costs are very reasonable, in nearly 3 years of ownership mine has been 100% reliable, aside from an annual service it has only cost me a couple of light bulbs.

I bought mine to replace a Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo, I wanted something with no turbo's, no 4ws, no active suspension etc, and less general complexity, but which still went well and had enough refinement to keep me happy and comfortable behind the wheel, and it has fitted the bill perfectly in every way.
