Default Tyres

Any recommendations for tyres that perform and last well but don't break the bank?
Looking for two rear.

When I bought mine the dealer who specialises in Crossfires said if he has to put tyres on them he uses Accelera, he gets them from www.tyretraders.com

He said they are great tyres for the money and they do seem to be available in the usual sizes and bigger.

Looks like tyre traders went into administration in February however tyres on the drive have some for about £75 fitted. Accelerate tyres seem to get mixed reviews on the net but for that sort of price?
Thanks for the heads up, did you get your SRT from Stuart at SDSC?

The accelera's are a summer only tire aren't they??

I need a all season tire, I have ran the Gmax with good luck 35k miles, and have the DSW on atm with 12k miles on them atm.
Depends do you need a summer only, rain tire or all season tire?
A summer tire in cold weather will put you in the ditch.

Hi, yes I bought it from Stuart at SDSC. Part of the price negotiation was based on it could do with tyres soon hence he had recommended the Accelera. Have not fitted any yet though.
I noticed the tyre trader site wasn't working but thought it was down for maintenance, didn't expect administration.
Cheers. Nick.

Hi, I currently have the same tyre size set up, found that my fronts rub slightly when turning about mid lock, do yours clear OK?
Thanks. Nick.

I have 275/35 r19 and have had 285/35R19
And 235/40R18 on the front.
No rubbing, the passenger side front wheel was popped in toward tires some, just some readjustment and no rubbing.
Where is yours rubbing at?

See my sig file, the Michelins are the best tire I have driven on.

Paradigm shift idea for you RE: break the bank. Your car has four small contact points between you and traction loss, make the best of it not the cheapest of it.

Rears are fine.

If you turn about mid steering lock clockwise the drivers side just touches the inner wheel arch plastic fender where the drivers feet point. Its only a fraction of a rub but you can hear it when going slow. Curious to know as it might just be that the tyres fitted have a slightly higher profile.
Thanks.

I had Accelera's all round never again. Too cheap and very little grip. Got Avons now and it's like different car, much better grip in the wet. Spend a little more and be safe

Could be one of the plastic clips came loose on the plastic liner and making it stick in more.

I use Falken 453s on all 3 of my Crossfires, have used the Falken brand for many many years always been happy with grip and wear!! don't know what you would call "affordable" but I just put 4 on the Limited just under £600 (London prices)
Tyres are a personal choice really, what works for one may not for another all depends on how you drive and what you want from your tyres!

Vredestein Ultrac Vorti 225/40/18 92Y for front and Vredestein Ultrac Vorti 255/35/19 96 Y for rear
you can find the front tyres at 90€ and the rear at 160€.
I had Pirelli P Zero before and i'm more happy with the Vredestein and also cost lesser and are better in the rain.

Hope it helps.
