Default Brake Disc Shields for SRT-6 Wheels?

I did a search and didn't find a post, so here goes... Does anyone know anyone who makes Disc Brake shields for the Crossfire? In particular the SRT-6. The pads on this car produce a TON of brake dust and cleaning the 15 spoke wheels is a pain in the A$$!!

I've seen them on other cars and they never take away from the look (unless you like to paint your calipers) and I'd easily give up that perk to avoid having to clean the wheels every time I drive it anywhere.

go for the dust-free brake pads...

rotex gold kevlar = 95% less brake dust. cost about $200. front & rear.

I agree, the brake dust on the srt6 is awful. I'm too cheap to spend $200 bucks on new brake pads. I would suggest using the spray on wheel cleaner and pressure washing it so you don't get your fingers banged up and tired.

I contacted the guys from Kleen Wheels and asked why they did not make them for the Crossfire they said -- The 2 different rim sizes is not an issue (we do it for Corvettes now!). There is not enough demand to make the expense justifiable! If you can get 50 people together and place an order for 50 complete sets (50 pairs of the front, and 50 pairs of the rear), we will make the shields and ship them out via UPS to each individual (Continental US addresses only!). The cost would be $94.95 (incl. shipping) for each set of 4 shields (x 50) to be paid in advance (No cancellations or refunds will be allowed). If you are interested, please let me know.

Disc brake shields are a bad idea for one reason...HEAT.

Well I think $95 is a bit steep for plastic and I can see the point about Heat (although I would love to hear a technical argument regarding the effects). I think at this point I will continue to high pressure wash the wheels and use some heavy duty cleaner. This seems to loosen up the grit and make it easy enough to wipe off with some towels.

I agree the price is pretty steep. They are aluminum and have vents to help the cooling but I am still skeptical.

Why do you want to destroy the brakes and ruin your car?

You've GOT to have air going over the brakes. If not, you can kill the pads and rotors rather easily.
If you're going to drive the car, you've gotta live with the brake dust.

Feets,
This isn't true at all, you don't have to live with brake dust. I've had several other "performance" vehicles and NONE of them had the brake dust issue this car has. Other cars have similar issues. The pads on my A8 were AWFUL and would coat the wheels on a regular basis until I switched to Ceramic Pads and now its only a couple of months before the wheels need cleaning with a scrub brush (vs. every week for the SRT-6). And before you suggest the A8 isn't being driven hard or a 'performance' vehicle, you generate a TON more braking pressure bringing a 2 ton car down from 130 MPH speeds than the Crossfire!

Rotex Gold brake pads are the way to go!
I have them on mine and it made a huge difference in brake dust, and it stops just as good, if not better then before.
I used to wipe my wheels off every day after getting home from work (about 65 miles round trip) just to keep it from getting REAL bad and to keep the wheels looking bright silver. Now...I can go at least three days and they still don't look as bad as they did before in one day.
The dust from the new pads isn't as dark either, which also helps keep the wheels from getting dark so fast.
Over all, I'm very happy I spent the money on the pads!
