I finally got the new wheels on my car, 245/35/18's on the front and 285/35/19's on the rear. The pic's are not very good because I live in the middle of a 100 acre's of woods and the sun had already set past the trees.

Looks great Steve! glad it all finally came together.

It's amazing how much better that Aero Blue looks when it is all waxed up and pretty. The ones I saw on the dealer lot were not very appealing.

Almost makes me wish I would've gone with Aero - but Graphite is still nice. :cool:

I do get a lot of compliments on the color of the car, I had money down on a SSB the same as the '04 coupe I was driving. But when I saw the aero blue I changed my mind, the SSB just didn't look that good to me in the SRT6 model for some reason.

Looks sharp.

I like the stock rims and will stick with them untill there way scuffed or tires are gone, then I will look to upgrade to some 20". But I do like the looks of yours.

Where in Indiana?

I once visited my in-laws in Posey County. They live on a huge Corn/Bean farm. I don't think there was a paved road in the whole county. Never could keep the truck clean.

I feel the same way about the stock rims, they are very classy. I've been fighting the chrome wheel fever for months and finally gave in, I have the OEM's with the OEM tire's still on them so I can switch back and forth. :p
I live outside of a very small town named Odon, in Daviess county. There's about as many horse & buggies as there are cars, (amish country) out here where I live. Farm country for sure, witch makes for lots of bugs, that's why I don't drive my car much. I can't stand to see it splattered with bugs sitting in my big toy box, so every time I drive it I have to clean it up.

What's the offset on the front rims? Front rim width? (8.5 inches?)

Do you get any rubbing on the upper ball joint bolt or nut?

The front rims are 8.5 and was called 35mm offset, but I took some measurements of where the OEM rim sat in from the top of the front fender. Then mounted the new front rim on the car, (with no tire) sat the car down with the rim on a 4X4 covered with a big rag and rolled the car back & fourth so it would come to the position in witch the car would be sitting. Then took a measurement in the same place and the new wheel stuck out about 8 to 10 mm farther than the OEM. :confused: I had to use a 10mm hub centrical spacer to get the center cap to go on the wheel. I checked the clearance of the ball joint bolt/nut without the spacer and there was only about 2 to 3mm clearance, so with the 10mm spacer there's a lot of room. I've only test driven it about 10 miles, hit a few dips & bumps and I don't think there's going to be a rubbing issue. If I do get a rub it will be straight up just inside the fender well, I've looked it over real good and there's plenty of clearance everywhere else.

Steve are those the chrome ASA AR1's? Nice looking wheels my friend, I'm trying to decide polished or chrome on that wheel or chrome OEM. Still haven't made up my mind. Those look really nice, good choice.

Last question... are those the regular Pilot Sport tires or PS2s?

Thanks for the compliment, they are Stern ST-8 Hyper Mesh II. I was perfectly happy with the OEM's until after adding all the chrome to the car. I had priced getting the OEM's chromed it was going to run between $1,000 to $1,200, so for the price I decide to just go with some aftermarket's. I put the OEM's with the tire's on them up, (2,000 miles on them) I'm going to keep them because I think they will be worth a lot of $$ down the road a few years. I don't think the Sten wheels are no top of the line wheels, but I really liked the look of them. I only paid $780 for the set delivered, :) the big money was for the tire's.

They are those damn expensive A$$ PS2's, $860 for the rears - $660 for the fronts and if you price around that's a fairly low price for them.

Yeah, I thought you had mentioned before that you were getting PS2s, but didn't know for sure you had settled on them. I'll probably go with the 245/35s in the front and 295/30s in the rear as I don't want to start messing with that upper ball joint bolt (shortening it).

On the 8.5 wide rim with the 245/35's I used a 10mm hub centrical spacer for two reasons, 1 - to get the center cap to go on and 2 - the tire was to close to the ball joint for me to feel it would be safe. I wanted a 5mm and bought a pair, but they did not have the 66mm lip for the wheel to fit on. I guess they figured there was enough of the 66mm hub sticking out for the wheel to fit on, witch they did, but good enough for me. I got all my spacers & lug bolts thru EZaccessories, but there was a problem with the spacer not fitting over the dust cover of the spindle. The lip of the spacer that the center of the wheel fits over was 3mm thick, I took one of the dust covers to work with me with the spacers and use a metal lathe to take 1.1mm out of the inside. They fit over the dust covers like a glove, I wanted to make them as tight as I could so that the spindle housing will be supporting the wheel.

Thanks HDDP, I hated to pay that kind of price for tires, but the PS2's are suppose to be one of the best ultra high performance tires on the market.

Nice looking wheels and an excellent choice of tires. I also considered the Sterns but they gotta be a pain in the A$$ to clean.
AND THEY MUST ALWAYS BE CLEAN! ;)
