18.8.5 & 19.9.5 spacer question

Greetings and thanks for your input.

I have searched here for reference, and some conflicting...

2005 SRT-6

"I Have New Rims ADR" they are...

Front 18.8.5 35mm offset with original tires cont's 225 40 R 18 (new tires).
Rear 19.9.5 35mm offset with original tires cont's 255 35 R 19 (new tires).

Will be using H&R Hubcentric 20MM spacers for the Rear. Are These required ? or is this for cosmetics ??

So for the front do I need spacers ? (also want a good cosmetic look as this car never goes to the track).

I see some are using 10, 12, mm spacers up front ?

Thanks for your input.

I believe the rears are 19 X 9 and not 19 X 9.5. Not positive, but I think that's the number I remember.

Re: 18.8.5 & 19.9.5 spacer question

I was looking at some ADR rims the other day. I believe the stock front rim is a 35mm offset and 7.5" wide, so the ADR 8.5" 35mm will stick out towards the fender one inch farther. So I'd say no need for a spacer up front.
11.7mm = 1/2 inch.

so a 20mm spacer on the rear would probally work to compensate for the higher 35mm offset on the 9.5" ADR, compared to the stock 22mm 9" rim. That's the way I see it. I think someone has pics with a 20mm spacer on here somewhere.

Re: 18.8.5 & 19.9.5 spacer question

How are the 225s working on a 1 inch wider wheel? would it have been safer or easier to go with a 235? I am looking to do likewise but with a 20"wheel all around same make and offset at 35 mm. I'm just curious as to the possible stretching of the 225 on an 8.5 rim when this same 225 fits a 7.5 rim! Would you be kind enough to answer if you know would a spacer be needed anywhere on this car using 35mm offsets front or back.

Offset is measured from the center of the wheel, so a 8.5 inch wheel will stick out 1/2" more at the fender than a 7.5 inch wheel, right?

I have 18X8.5 wheels on the front with a 35MM offset and 19X9.5 wheels on the rear with a 35MM offset. I use the standard size tires on front and rear and need no spacers. No rubbing or other problems at all.

yes, assuming the offset is the same, an 8.5" wheels is going to stick out 1/2" more (and stick "in" 1/2" more...be careful about getting too close to that ball joint bolt).
