New Tires Are Here
Well my tires came in. I ordered them on tirerack on monday and had them on wednesday. Fast Shipping. I get them installed on Saturday. They are going to try to do the alignment as well but they don't think they will be able to. Tell me what you think about them. ;)

Re: New Tires Are Here
is 255 the same size for the front and rears?
|
Re: New Tires Are Here
Usually those BFG's have a hard sidewall, and a harsh ride, but I hope you like them.

Re: New Tires Are Here
no they are 225 for the front 255 rear

Re: New Tires Are Here
I was going to buy the exact same set, but they said not to have them in cold near freezing weather. Let me know what you think of them, and how many miles you get out of the those beauties. One of the local AMG owners here has a set on his convert, but he only drives it in the summer, he said they are good and sticky for launching, other than that, can't wait to hear what you think

Re: New Tires Are Here
they are summer only performance tires so yeah they are meant for only the spring/summer/early fall. Winter tires are for winter.

Re: New Tires Are Here
Bah. You pansey.
275 or bust. :p Great choice for a street performance tire though. They will be loud and they will be harsh... but they will get the job done better than most. |

Well I've only had the tires for a day now but I can already tell Im going to love them. They are a little louder than my old Michelins but I could not hear them with my radio at the normal level. I tired my hardest yesterday to spin the tires and couldn't. These tires are awesome.

Re: New Tires Are Here
I had those tires on my other car until recently. They stick like glue, the ride isn't bad at all, and they aren't terribly loud for a summer performance tire.
But...... put about 20~25,000 miles on them and the noise rises to an absurd level. It got to where I actually thought my front wheel bearings were going out on me, except turning the wheel made no difference in sound. Under braking especially, when you've reached that mileage level, the noise is almost deafening. I know tires tend to get louder with age, but these are rediculous. Up to that point though they really are fantastic. |
Re: New Tires Are Here
Well, it's time to buy some new tires and I decided to go with the Continental ContiTouring Contact again. The pair that I have on the car now have provided a quiet and comfortable ride without giving up too much grip, that's important since this is my daily driver and the roads aren't perfect.
It wasn't an easy decision and the Goodyear F1 A/S were a very close second. TireRack had a great deal on the Continentals and threw in a Magellan RoadMate 1200 for free. Delivered price was $808.52. Should have them mounted before the GTG this Saturday. Kevin |
