Default Tire Rack

Everyone
Is Tire Rack online only where you buy tires and they ship them? I know some of you got your tires from Tire Rack. Does anyone remember the cost to ship them?

At Tire Rack's site, they have recommended installers as well, to be found by ziip code. Boy, I notice a huge difference in price for the better from Tire Rack.

Happy New Year?

Thank you! So, on my other question, I assume Tire Rack is an online order only facility? The reason I ask is because years ago we had outlets called Tire Rack.

Thanks again..

Tire Rack doesn't physically have any stores, but they do distribute to some stores. The main one I know of is Pep Boys.

Cissy, I have used Tire Rack a few times, they have good prices and as far as the installers, you get the price up front for all charges before you place your order and the tires get shipped right to them.

Now, that's interesting. So, if I decided to order tires from them (in the future), then I'd make appointment with the installers for when the tires arrive. That is sort of a unique idea. Thanks

I ordered my Crossfire tires from TireRack. Couldn't beat the price anywhere.

In the past I have ordered tires from http://www.tires-easy.com/ with very good service.

Hi Crissy,

You really need to make sure you shop around and if/when you call tire rack and you don't like the answer, you need to try back another time/day. I called them one day and the guy was a salesman and nothing else. The next time I called I got a guy that appeared, could have been a better salesman, but he appeared to be genuine in his help. But the best I had was a guy at NTB who really seemed interested in my needs and not just trying to sell me the most expensive tire.

Back to square one, make sure you shop around and don't accept any hard sales until you are comfortable. Good luck and let us know which route you go and what you get.

Thank you, Erzer. We are not ready yet to do this. It's more for future. Your advice is right on. BTW, what is NTB?

Hi Cissy, it stands for "National Tire & Battery". I don't know if they're in Calif. or not.
Even though they call themselves "National".

I've ordered from tire rack many times over the years, and they've always had great deals on tires (although no where near as good as the recent Costco "sale"

Now that they'll drop ship to a recommended installer, they couldn't be easier to deal with, although I do believe the prices their installers charge are higher then if you purchased tires directly from the installer, but everyone has to make a living, so no complaints here.
