So what happens after the pad is gone?
with the complain of "my brake light has been on for a year or so", it is an e320 that came up from Detroit.

na, he got scared with the bill and ended up selling the car to my buddy for $350
we then installed new brakes all the way around, sensors replaced, new radiator, new p/s pump, fixed oil leak, fixed trans leak, frame welded back together, new tires and he drove it home from the shop.

It's amazing that it didnt grind the pistons down to nothing first... holy cow!! What a dumb @$$!!
Agreed, lucky that he didnt kill himself and/or someone else driving with those non-brakes.

Saw one worse than that when I was working at Autozone.
Customer insisted that we sold him the wrong rotor cuz his rotor was just a single solid rotor not a "two" rotor setup like in your picture.
When out to his car and sure enough he had worn one whole side off of the rotor and was down to just one side.
Some people!

I had a guy about 9 years ago that was deaf and owned a Dodge Ram 3500 that he towed a 10,000lb trailor with that came in the shop and complained that "the truck won't stop any more". It turned out that both his front rotors looked exactly like the one you pictured.
He was very fortunate as well to FINALLY get it checked out before towing something again and plowing people down.
The thing looks like a cheese grater! So lucky the owner didn't hurt anyone or himself.

Boy, to wear disks down that far, takes some superhuman grit and determination to put up with all that grinding and noise, or perhaps the owner was just plain deaf. Probably by replacing 3-5 sets of pads on the same disks and you too could have disks like that.
Funny, in Europe almost every country has regular mandatory vehicle inspections to keep heaps like this off the road, but not every state in the U.S.A.????!!!? Here in California I see cars with similar or worse safety defects on the highway at least couple times a day, WTF?

i worked on a 02 z06 a few weeks ago that had brakes that were just like that. the owner had gone to road atlanta with squealing brakes and and when he finished the race, one rotor looked like that and the other separated and a chuck went into 2 caliper pistons.... people like that are morons.... so are ya'll gunna sell it or what?

Apparently you guys didn't stop at the visitor's welcome center......they give out handguns and ccw's there, they call it a "survival package".
