I am about to buy the same tires. How are they for ride and noise? I like the look of the bigger rear. No problem with rubbing?

I went with the same tires as Valk except put 285/30/19 on the rear. No problem with tire rub and they very quiet and give a nice smooth ride.

using this tire calculator Tire Size Calculator great for converting tire sizes. the 285/30/19 are very close in circumference to the stock 255/35/19. The former indicates 64.25 mph vs 65 mph on the stock size. The 285/35/19 will make 67.05 mph vs 65 for stock.

Valk, better watch your speed in those traps that get you ANY over the limit. LOL ;)

Well I have only put about 30 miles on them but as far as ride and noise...
Very quiet at any speed (I've already run em up to 130mph)
Very smooth ride IMO and no rubbing issues at all.
As long as your suspension is stock there should be no problems.

I concur with SRT SIX and Valk. They are quiet and give a smooth ride. I've had no rubbing issues at all and I went with 235/40/18 and 295/30/19 (I have larger after market wheels, though). Installed them last November and really like them.

Yes but going wider than I did on the OEM wheels is not recommended.
The sidewalls are curled in to far and you may have undesirable wear.

Next size wider I believe is 295/30/19 or 295/35/19

This is the size of these tires that Chuck (Thumper SRT6) has on the back of his and seems to be working just fine for him.

His are not on the OEM wheels and may have a different offset.
His Wheels look much wider than the OEM's and look really good I must say :)

Colin (tri-zombie) had 295/30/19 on his stock SRT6 wheels. Definitely looked wide, provided a nice protection against accidental curb rashes.

:) Valk,
Good news! You will not have to worry about the speedometer difference if you get clocked at 130!

I once had my rear wheels off the ground on jacks and ran the car in gear.
The speedo didn't register speed so I wonder if the front wheels are the only ones that control the speedo ??

Well I copied Val and had my tires installed today and all I can say is WOW

Ride went from a 2 to a 10. Bought my 2004 limited about 8 month ago and did not know these car road so nice. Plus the 285 in back give it just a touch of a lift and make it look a little meaner and not so sweet

Thanks Val

Great information. I'm just a little concerned about any rubbing or fitment problems with the 285s. Any problems so far? It seems the 275/35-R19, if available, will give a little more width/height and might be a good compromise (if available). I also like the idea of more rubber width to help protect the rims.

re: Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110

I can't speak for the Limited but my SRT6 has had 285/30s on the rear for almost 2 years with absolutely no problems. I went to the 30 profile because with the extra width of the 285s the total diameter was nearly the same and the speedo is off less than 1mph at 65.
