AMG or knockoff?
 

I am going to look at a set of AMG wheels this evening and need to know from some of you AMG experts what are some of the details I can look for in the wheels to know they are legit?

I have seen some AMAZING copies, with AMG forged into them and all so I know high end copies are out there and do not want to pay the price for actual AMG wheels and get knockoffs.

look for the mercedes part number cast into the inside, all the replica's do not have the mercedes number on them, it will be a string of numbers along the lines of 123 456 89 90

Keep in mind, the real ones are HEAVY.

I know several E55 guys at MBWorld have shed 7 pounds per corner by going to reps. Not sure what they're losing in structural integrity... :p

What family of Benz wheels? I know the new C-class wheels are crazy-high on offsets.

I had knock offs in the past and real MB wheels now. the knock offs were excellent and seemed every bit as good as my real ones. There are two primary Ebay sellers that have very nice replicas at great prices.

Right now, they're a bit low on stock but they DO still have the 805 AMG design in our Crossfire staggered sizes.

I spoke to Vassili last week, this is how I know for sure LOL. He said in roughly 1 month they should be doing decent on stock again, but it's TBA.
