Plastidip experiment
I had to replace one of my rims so i figured i would try out some plastidip. I bought some black and some glossifier, but in these pics i didnt use the glossifier. I did one all black and then i removed around the lip to see how that would look. Opinions?
Ya me too. I did like 6 coats so it was very easy to peel off the lip. I just went around the edge with a razor blade then peeled. If i do the actual wheels on the car i may sand them down a little so get them nice and smooth and use the glossifier.
don't bother sanding anything, thats the point of plastidip... it'll smooth itself out over the next week or so... you can also paint over it if you wanted... on my last card I used white plastidip as a base, painted over with white wheel paint and then clear coat (regular clear coat, not the glossifier)..

The reason i was gonna sand them is to get out all the small imperfections on the rims. Can you still peel it of if you use paint over it and clear?
yeah you can but its very tedious it comes off in little chips
Any pics? Id like to see them actually on the car before i go all out.. I was going to get gunmetal but it was on backorder. If i get tired of the black i will probably order some when it becomes available.
