Default Skinnies arrived today

I received the skinnies I bought from daithi2 (Harvey) today, and they will work with the big brakes as long as I'm running some spacers. The weight savings is 20lbs per wheel/tire combo. Hopefulley these will be good for a tenth or so.

Nice weight savings, that rotational weight loss will be good for some time, for sure.

Looks silly to see those beautiful brakes behind that donut looking wheel, but function over form at the track....

Didn't the skinnies actually COST you time when you ran Steve's?

There's some member on here that used skinnys and got an incredible time on intake/tune/pulley. I want to say he was using a 185 and ran a 11.6 or 11.7. So yea, count on the decreased contact patch and weight savings to definitely shave off time.

If they lower my ET's, I'll paint them silver so they aren't so hideous.

That won't be happening for me unless I build the engine for a 400 shot.

I'll find out in the Spring. I've got too much noise from the new carrier to beat on it anymore this season.

I kind of miss that Cruzinquick. As a newbie on here awhile back, I asked about how to remove those OEM crimped hose clamps on our stock intake system, and I got ridiculed by none other than Steve! It was Cruzinquick that came to my defense.
I hope those lighter skinnies get you your 1/10th Anthony.

I grew up with lots of brothers so I can be a sarcastic jerk sometimes but the truth is I miss both Steve and Cruzin, a lot. Steve because he tells it like he sees it and he only sees things 2 ways. Black and white with no grey areas. Cruzin was the same. We need diversity to keep it interesting. (Olive branch)

Grip ends up with most of my dream parts and documents the results. I'm looking forward to the skinnies being beautified as they surely will be.

I know...just razin' you... I pull no punches with Steve...he's knows I like to jerk his chain... I am sure Anthony will dress up the fronts this winter... I use another ole' drag racin' trick for my fronts, but it doesn't help with weight... now to find some gearing...lol

I added 10mm spacers and went for a test drive today with the skinnies. For the record, they are 17" wheels from a e500 and tires are M&H Racemasters 4.5-26x17 DOT's. I realize they are hideous, but I plan on powder coating them silver over the winter.

silver would be good. A setup like this means it isn't your first rodeo. Have you adjusted your konis just to see if there is any difference?

I'm running stock shocks and springs until Hustler's kit is released.

skinnies that weigh 51 lbs and you call the CCW skinnies i had boat anchors!! HA! for the record les i have been slow all yr long. best i could muster was 11.6 @ 123 mph. the winter engine build should fix that by 15 mph at least. looking at 700 rwhp by spring
