Anyone know what the stock size of the isolator pad for the front springs? They come in 1 - 5 burl. Each burl size has a different thickness.

Yep, I paid $10 each for the 5s. But I get a business discount. I'm looking for a 1 or 2 burls because I'm thinking of putting stock springs, and lowering by using a less thicker pads. If you have 1 or 2 burl pads, please let me know.

Any thoughts on where I can find the stock isolator pad size thickness for the front springs? What size did they come with from the factory? They are sold 1-5 burls as follows:

1 burl = 5mm
2 burl = 9mm
3 burl = 13mm
4 burl = 17mm
5 burl = 21mm

I have all the part numbers for them, but it would help to know what they came with from the factory. That way I can pick the right size to replace them for the height I'm looking for. My car has the 5 burl pads, but my car has been modified.

They used a grab bag originally as far as I can tell. Everyone has something different up there. I think 2 and 3 are the most common sizes for the front but who knows how they went about choosing. If you are using stock size springs even the thinnest pads will not give you a lowered look but would be better than the 5s. Id go 1 dot all around with stock, non cut springs.

FP, I think this is correct, and agrees with what I found while researching lowering. Remember, changing these out results in 1/2 of the difference at the wheels. So, if you install 20 mm thinner pads (you can't) it would result in a 10 mm (7/16") smaller fender gap. Not too much. They were originally produced this way waaaaay back in MB lore to offset worn/weak springs, and even out a car's ride

Max, this all started because I already have the Eibach lowering springs, but I feel my front is a tad lower than I want it. So, I was going to change my pads to 5 burl pads to raise my car 10 mm or so. The problem is my car already has 5 burl pads. So I was thinking maybe putting SRT springs with 1 burl pads. I have 19" wheels in front, and would like add a bit more rubber with slightly taller tires.

Rob sells the pair(2) of #1 burl (dot?) pads for $19.95. Just FYI, my SRT6 had #3 all the way around stock.

With OEM SRT springs, will this lower it enough, FP?

I don't know Max. I have the same question. If I install the SRT springs with a 1 burl pads will it drop by 1/2 inch from stock? Maybe some of you more knowledgeable on suspensions know.

FP,

at a guess, I would say 1/2" is about what you'll see. Perhaps a bit more...

This seems backwards. Wouldn't the difference at the wheel be [roughly] double the difference at the pad? I am imagining the geometry as a fulcrum with the adjustment in the middle.

Picture from website: 2008 Chrysler Crossfire - Front Suspension | Mopar

We are talking about part #15 in this drawing, right? The spring sits [very] roughly halfay out on the lower control arm. Relative to where the inner bushings mount to the body subframe, the perpendicuar change in distance at the wheel hub end would be roughly double the change in disance at the spring base.
