Stupid lug nut question

What is the lug nut measurement of the XF as in you're looking for wheels which will fit. This is the first five lug nut car I've owned. Four's are easy, just measure across to the opposite nut. I get 68 mm going from one lug nut to the one next to it on my XF - or thereabouts.

However when I key in 68 mm wheels on google I get a slew of wheel caps.

I realized a long time ago that I have a limited space in my noggin, so I never bother learning/remembering stuff that doesn't affect me. But now, five lug nuts regarding wheel measurements does.

Whether replacing wheels or lug bolts, make sure that the bolts have the proper taper. There are two types, Conical and Ball type. Stock wheels are ball type.

There are lots of websites for purchasing hubcentric rings for after-market wheels. The one below I like to use as it is simple to find what you need. Just input your car and select the wheel manufacturer.

JustForWheels.com

You could have checked any website that offered after-market wheels. Sites like Discount Tire, Tire Rack, RimsnTires, etc., would have given you the lug nut spacing for the Crossfire. This one is quite useful:

Padgett^^^^^gave you the correct size and you have lug bolts as stated above which are ball seat for the stock wheels. If you are changing brands of wheels, you will need the correct length of lug bolt associated with the wheel you are buying. Conical and ball as stated above. Then you have to worry about the offset of the wheels for fitment on the car....don't you just love it. I am still using my stock wheels for a reason...too lazy to do the math...lol.

I relied on the recommendation of a tech on one of the online tire and wheel sites and could not be happier. He talked me out of a wheel I had decided on and into one he thought would be nicer after telling him my aim. Well, I get more comments about my wheels than anything else, just love 'em.

Hey Jim, what rims did you end up with and where did you buy from? Show us some picks!

Ancient Chinese saying.
"There are no stupid lug nut questions, just stupid lugs."

Thanks. I did call him and thank him for his input. His name is Luis Alvarez in case anyone wants to know. The caliper covers are Viper blue, which I could not find in caliper paint, hence the covers and the bolt accents are over the counter bolt covers from Ebay.
