Default Anti-sway bar mounts broken away from body

I would like to know if anyone could tell me the procedure for fixing this problem? Seems it isn't that uncommon. The rear anti-Sway bar on my 2005 Crossfire Limited Coupe has broken away from the body. I am in contact with a fabricator who does custom welding to try and fix this. Will the interior in back need to be removed? This seems to be a real weak point in the suspension and the guys who race would have have a solution. Any information would be a help.

You might start by looking at this thread . . .

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...tml#post549385

Use the search box at the top of the forum page that says Google Custom Search. For example type in "broken sway bar" and check out what comes up . . . Good luck on the repair . . .

That thread focuses on the problem but not much on what exactly was done to solve it. Just welding the broken out brackets back in place not likely to be a real fix as the metal around is to flimsy to begin with. I would think it needs reinforcement.

You might want to send a PM to these guys as they are a few of the "into it" racing guys on the forum . . . VELOCIABSTRACT, HUSTLER316 and TOMMYT

I don't remember Les ever talking about having an issue there. But, a good fabricator/welder would probably beef up that area with a steel plate. Same fashion you would do when installing a roll bar/roll cage...

Thanks I am working that direction. Contacted a couple of fabricators in the area. One wants the back interior removed before he touches it, one has no lift, and one hasn't gotten back to me. Will post solution when I can get it done.
