Default Converting from AutoStick to manual-looking shift boot

Well I think that was confusing but I'm sure you guys have walked into an automatic Mercedes or BMW and seen that they have shift boots around their automatic sticks. I was thinking of doing that with mine. Has anybody done this and if so how? I know it would cover up the Winter and Sport mode button, but I keep mine is sport mode all the time so that does not matter. I was thinink, i know that rectangular surround pops out, could the shift boot be tucked under that or no? Is this even possible? What do you guys think? Thanks!

If you figure it out let me know. I've thought about it, but don't see how it can be done. Good luck with this project, and keep us posted.

I would think that a upholstery shop could do it fairly easy.

This year at Woodward I saw that Beaner had done this to his automatic. Looked very good and I'm sure he would post a pick if you asked him.

I have always wanted to do this to my 6 but i want to get a 5 speed handle to. How funny would it be to have a friend in the car and wondering why it has a 5 speed shift lever but your never shifting. I just need to find some one who will sell me the boot and the handle.

Here's pic of Beaner's. I didn't realize it was an autostick. He did a great job. Will need to talk to him.

Ya its amazing but I want to keep my 6 stock. Im thinking about 20 years down the road when these cars are acutally worth something. Things are worth more when they are stock. After I get out of college I want to get a base model roadster and make my dream crossfire.

I didn't know that an upholstery shop could put in a shift boot for an automatic. I'll definetley get it done but my XF is undergoing MAJOR interior work so once it is done, I will definetly post some pics!! Can't wait though!!!!!

Hey those are my b**bs hangin from the rearview. I got the shift boot from :::: Shift Style :::: Boot Style . It is for a Manual crossfire but I wanted to see if I could put it on the auto and what do you know, it went on perfectly. no cutting or modifying anything. The boot comes in different styles and stich patterns also

Thanks Beaner, now I'm going to ask if they can use some of my custom orange leather scraps to do accents.

Do these mods ever end????

They even have a pic of a crossfire on there web site. But why in almost every picture of a interior is the little silver trim around the shifter put on backwards.
