We are eighth-grade students at West Shore Middle School in Milford, Conn. The purpose of our letter is to formally invite you to our “Female Soldiers: Forgotten Heroes” Fundraiser Dinner and Raffle, which is scheduled for May 26, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in our school cafeteria. All of the money raised at our dinner will benefit “Female Soldiers: Forgotten Heroes”.
For those of you not familiar with Female Soldiers: Forgotten Heroes, it will be the first transitional supportive housing program for homeless female Veterans in the State of Connecticut. Applied Behavioral Rehabilitation Institute, Inc. (ABRI) a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation located in Bridgeport, Connecticut for seven years has successfully offered services to homeless male Veterans in Connecticut through its transitional housing program, Homes for the Brave and now will pursue a program to support homeless women veterans.
The cost of the dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for veterans and children under 12. The evening is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. Dinner will go from approximately 6:20 until 7:30 and be followed by a few brief speeches. We would be honored to have you attend our event and help to end homelessness among our veterans. Please respond by May 1, 2010, to West Shore Middle School, 70 Kay Avenue, Milford, CT 06460, in care of my teacher, Mr. Thomas Acri, or call my school at (203) 783-3553, so we can let the caterer know the approximate number of attendees. We will also be holding a fundraiser raffle that evening and welcome any items or services you would be willing to donate. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
