My Crossfire is gone...
My Crossfire is gone...
I regret to inform you that my Yellow XFire Roadster was traded in today for a Dodge Challenger SRT in Hemi Orange color. I purchased the 2009 Challenger with the 425 hp 6.1 liter engine with a 6-speed manual tranny. It's fully loaded with every option and is quite the retro rocket. As much as I hated to see my Crossfire go with only 12000 miles on her, I know I will really enjoy my new SRT Challenger.

I think the Plum Crazy color will be the hardest to come by. It is being offered in a very limited edition. Your friend is lucky to get one. He'll love the Challenger SRT. It is definitely a retro rocket. I just love the sound of the Hemi Engine and the exhaust as you accelerate. I'm looking forward to plenty of fun with my new machine. I will definitely miss my Crossfire, but it was time to move on. I usually buy another vehicle about every 2-3 years. The bride got a new Edge Limited last June so I was due this spring but made it late winter instead.

Bob, I was surfing the channels on Sunday afternoon and saw a car show about the challenger SRT/8. They took a new one off the lot and installed an aftermarket supercharger and intercooler. The kit was well thought out , it was tight but everthing fit like a glove. It added 150 hp so that would be a cool 575 ponies. You should do it! Enjoy the new ride.
Re: My Crossfire is gone...
The Challenger owners in the CT area apparently do a couple of "meet & greets" at either Mohegan or Foxwoods. It appears they may try to schedule something for April 18. Personally, I think it would be cool to meet up with NEX Members at some time or another. Imagine the attention this group of Crossfires and Challengers would attract. Keep me informed of what you guys are doing and I'll let you know what the Challenger people are doing.

It appears the Challenger "Meet & Greets" have been at the Mohegan Sun. The Casino closes off the top floor of their parking garage (5th floor, no roof) and only those with a Challenger are allowed access. They did this twice last year at 2:00 PM on Sunday afternoons. Last time they had a couple of dozen Challengers participate. Sounds like an excellent photo op to me.
I can't speak for the Challenger Group as of yet. I'm the "Junior Man" at this point. I've only been a member for about a week, but if my friends from NEX would like to join in on the top floor of the garage, I would ask about it. Those of you who have been to the car shows up there know there is plenty of room. Give it some thought.

I've been spending most of my forum time at www.challengerforumz.com . I like the flow of info there. I did join the SRT forums but haven't done much at that one.

I saw my former Crossfire today. I was at the dealer to get my front plate put on so I could get my new car inspected. My former yellow roadster is in the front row being offered at $19,999. The car is a real eye-catcher against the background of more conservative colors.

Re: My Crossfire is gone...
Sadly Im going to to the same at the end of the year, if before I cant win the lottery or something similar. Im waiting to see if the Dodge guys make the right thing installing the 6.1 in the R/T now that the SRTs are getting the new 6.4
Then Dodge can say to Chevy and Ford STFO!! Mopar Rules Again
Cant do more than wait and hope
