I just got Disc Italia rotors and pads installed and also paint the rotors and applied Crossfire stickers to them. here are the pics

There is a hecl of a squel but I was told they have to be broken in. So I'll give it some time.

Nice! Your new setup will be louder than OEM even after braking them in, nature of the beast. I have those rotors on my N/A also .

Will the squell eventually go away? I've read about it with the Rotex Pad.
Does it matter that they are Ceramic?

Base on my experience, no but it will subside some once you brake them in. They are noisiest when cold, warm them up and the noise is less noticeable but still there.
Not sure if material makes a difference in noise level.......

Looking at the first picture it looks like the rotor is getting scored about a 1/2" from the edge of the rotor which might be making the squeal.

Cool.
I plan on doing the drilled & slotted when I need new pads.
Just out oif interest I went onto brakeworld.com to see the difference in price on Brembo & Disc Italia, and I noticed they have a brand called 'X-Brake' - anybody know anything about them besides being cheap???

Robby363,

I'll have to check that when I leave work. These are going to sound like a stupid questions but What could be causing that? Will it be ok once the brakes wear? Does that mean they were installed improperly?

Those rotors look awfully familiar...

Now you just need rims that will let you see them better...

MMZ_TimeLord has some serious brakes and wheels on that SRT6.

CrossfireRoadster, that score mark in the Rotor would bother the H#ll out of me.... not to mention the squeal.

I'd be standing on someone's desk about that.

What could be causing the rotor to be scored?
Will it be ok once the brakes wear?
Does that mean they were installed improperly?
Should I not go through the bed-in process until I have them looked at?

If the rotors are new they should be smooth as a babys back side.
if they are scored then there may be something in the pads causing extreem wear. The rotors should be looked at, cleaned and possible resurfaced. You may need to replace the pads if they are contaminated. That should take care of the squeal too.
I've got almost 20,000 miles on my Crossfire with the original pads and rotors and they're still smooth as new.

two places told me not to turn the rotors as new ones are better as MB ones get worse if you turn them...

I just took pictures of all four rotors. Does it matter that the rotors are nickel coated and the pads are ceramic. I just took it for a ride and the don't squell everytime. Not sure if that matters either. It is possible the garage put them on wrong?

Do they all squeal or just one? The first pic looks like it's getting scored the second one is hard to tell from the pic but the last 2 look ok. I'd get it checked asap before it causes more damage.

If they were nickel plated I'd say that it will take a few hundred miles min to seat in !

SRT6 Dan,

What is you opinion about the driver's side front rotor?
I appreciate all advice. I will bring it back to the garage in the morining and posibly to another garage for a second opinion.

If it's a deep groove 1/16 or more I'd have them fix it and check-out why it happened ? Maybe a burr or rock ? If just a marr it may wear off. How deep is it ?
