Default Changing exhaust system but keeping end pipes?

Hi guys! I'm thinking of changing the stock exhaust system to a MagnaFlow Street Series Cat-Back (part no. 16633, see pic below) but I really love the square stock ends. I know it might sound stupid to buy an expensive new exhaust system and cut it open the first thing I do, but I wonder if it's possible to cut away the ends and use the stock ones. I actually already have an extra pair of stock ends (see pic below). Has anyone done this? I think I saw it somewhere but can't find it. The MagnaFlow retailer said there might not be enough space behind the mufflers to weld on the stock ends but I don't see why that would be.
