- Remove the wire from the wire loop that holds it.
- Bend the metal outward slightly that keeps getting in the way of you trying to get the socket on the Torx hearded bold (E8 socket)
- Remove the sensor and the bolt together (making sure you have slack on the wire)
- Then remove the wire.
It is a hell of a lot easier than trying to remove the wire clip prior to removing the sensor.
Aloha,
I bought a spare BOSCH CPS.
The one side has a date code.
25 W14
Fourteenth week of 2025.
You also note that the cheap spare I had to carry around from an autoparts store has a smooth shaft (no jokes please) and no numbering.
The bosch part has two ribs that run down the shaft that can be felt and seen. ( again, please no jokes)
When I replaced.the original CPS (60k ago) with a Bosch I had a tough time fitting the Bosch with the ribs back into the hole when the engine was still hot so I sanded off the ribs, and walla it slipped right in.
Please don't say those are locating ribs or some other rubbish. As the bolt positions the sensor and the sensor doesn't care what clocked position its in 360°.It's not that complicated, and seals etc perfectly fine.
So check your part, make sure it's got a date code. The correct number part, it should come in a box not a baggie and should have those stupid ribs on it.
Mahalo!
