A followup:
My second chance this past weekend to take my sister's Crossfire out for a spin.
The first opportunity was spoiled by stalling it and subsequent trouble getting it restarted.
So I practiced intentional stalls and learned what the issue was the first time.
After a stall, to restart, the vehicle needs to be switched off and not just moved from run to start.
