The little bird story seems appropriate.
Many years ago in Canada a little bird and his buddies were sitting on the phone line in late summer talking about flying south for the winter.
The little bird said I’m not going to waste my time on that anymore, fly south for a few months only to fly back again, rationalizing that he could find a warm place to stay and with all the other birds gone there will still be plenty of food for him.
As fall set in the other birds flew south with him laughing as he waved goodby After a few more weeks a cold front moved in and it started snowing, a few days of that and he could no longer take the cold and all the seeds were buried in snow, so he took off heading south, no sooner than he got to altitude his wings iced up and he come crashing down into a field, right into a fresh cow plop. After a few minutes the warm cow poo warmed him up and there were some seeds to eat as well, he was so happy he started singing. Just then a cat heard him came over and promptly ate him.
The moral of the story? If your warm, fed and happy keep your mouth shut.
Good thing for Canadian Birds, It’s now a new world order and we’ve learned our lesson. From now on, the further south we fly the warmer it gets. It’s a big world especially when you reach the Gulf or Mexico.
