Re: Crankshaft Position Sensor
Hey tlhayes580,
Sounds more like the bank on passenger side is lean, etc more than a than crank position prob.
What originally was the code that you had, and did it include p0305 p0303 and p0301 misfire codes or just the cps code. Or did the misfire codes show up after replacing CPS?
Since it's a whole bank, all 3 injectors or all 3 coils are not getting a proper signal... (would Cam Sensor do that?)
There's perhaps a wire loose going to that bank.
Something's going on to get all three cylinders to misfire.
O2 sensor is bad...?
Something's messing that bank up,,, an air leak just on the on that side is letting a bunch of unchecked air...? hmmm You'll need to check fuel pressure to that sides rail, check coils are firing, ... or get another CPS and try it to make sure its good, highly doubtful its bad though to cause this.
I think it's the other way around your CPS sensor was good, but the misfires were making it so the crank position code showed up because of the way it was running and misfiring.
Check connections, etc. Start simple and cheap before throwing parts cannon at it. (ie swap left bank parts to right bank)
Someone else may chime in if they've ran into this.
Thanks
