Default Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?

Followed the YouTube video that outlines how to replace the Chrysler emblem n the hood. Had done it for the trunk already, but wanted to replace the one I had done a while ago on the hood as well with the original OEM (found for little money on EBay).

1) Used blue painters tape to cover most of the wing with the emblem. This will prevent the wing from breaking when you drill.
2) Cut out the area of the emblem with an exacto knife or an any sharp knife.
3) Carefully drill right into the “RY” of the Chrysler with a it enough drill bit, you can fit a screw driver behind it to peel the rest of the emblem off.
4) The old emblem is now in two halves and you just peel it off and clean what is underneath it with rubbing alcohol/GooGone and soap/water to remove the old glue.
5) I cleaned the back of the new emblem and attached double sided 3M tape. I find if you use silicone or emblem glue, it can shine through on the other side so double sided tape is the best way to go. Just put it on and cut around the edges so it fills the area perfectly.’
6) Clean the area you will attach it to one more time to make sure it’s nice and clean, then adhere the emblem and hold it there for 60 seconds.

Looks like brand new. Love it. Note: Trunk and Hood emblems are different sizes. So when you purchase, whichever one you are looking for make sure you get the right size. The hood emblem is the same on most Chrysler vehicles from that era (300, Town&Country)
