Here's my story.

Hi guys, I bought a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire convertible off of bring a trailer auction.Thought I got a good deal. The car was in Florida and I paid a transportation company to move it to Houston for me. Upon arrival I found that it had an oil leak in the engine. That was not disclosed. Fortunately the seller was cool about it and he split the cost of the repair with me.

After I took it to the repair shop we were doing some other things like working on the intermittent air conditioning problem that I have now learned how to better fix thanks to this form. Problem still not solved. I originally bought a replacement AC control thought that if I swap my old one out with this one I could get slightly better ***** with not as big of a gaping gap. And solve my irregular AC fan system.

While we're moving some of the plastic bezel the mechanic technician (I think got his formal training from a demolition company) proceeded to destroy many interior parts. It started out with somehow magically the lens on the speedometer cluster got mysteriously cracked. So I got a new used instrument cluster to swap out the plastic. While he was taken off the bezel but the instrument cluster he cracked that into several pieces. (Obviously leave this guy doesn't know how to take apart plastic parts in a crossfire.) Later I found out he cracked the lens on the dome light that I was replacing because it too had a cracked mounting clip. Somehow he cracked the lens but I had already bought a replacement. And he swapped the new cracked lens was the old good lens with the old dome light fixture and we made it work.

Somehow during the disassembly we discovered that he also broke pretty seriously the knee bolster of the driver side. Perhaps he took it off breaking some of the mounting brackets but then later on maybe he stepped on it or something but the whole thing is disfigured and otherwise ruined. At this moment I'm looking for an interior knee bolster pad and panel in cool vanilla color.

Please if anyone out there knows how/where to get this specific part I would be truly appreciative. I have pretty much scoured eBay and Facebook to the degree that I can. This is my Clarion call if anyone knows something or someone I would appreciate the help.

This forum has been phenomenal. Teaching me so much about how to take apart and repair the vehicles. The wealth of knowledge in this forum is truly remarkable. I have stayed up many nights reading your stories. Very grateful for all of you who have contributed over all these years.
Yours truly,

Your mechanic is the reason I do everything on my car myself. LOL Your Crossfire is actually a 2001 - 2004 Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 with a Chrysler body on it. Some parts are interchangeable.
I'm not sure if you are looking for just the knee pad itself or the lower dash assembly.
These parts are still available from Mercedes-Benz but will cost over $500.00
You can find them used on ebay: Crossfire knee bolster.
