Default Re: Extended Warranty

Ya Coyote, with 35K miles on that SRT-6, I'm surprised that they would write up a 7/70 policy on it. Check the details though as they will try to nickel and dime you every step of the way. If it's the "true" Maxi-Care for 7/70 bumper-to-bumper that covers some 8,000 parts (which no doubt started from your "in-service" date, not the date you took the policy --- which is the big screw job on it I'm sure), then that sounds decent. Best to check that "in-service" date though. If you've had the car for 18 months and they base the coverage on in-service date, they screwed you for those 18 months... Even on new SRT-6, they call it the "7/70" which is bullshit since you already get a 3/36... They should call it the 4/40 "extension" since that's all you are really getting... So you are paying roughly $500 a year for those 4 extra years beyond the end of the basic 3/36 coverage... One mishap on an SRT-6 EASILY hits $500 though... That's why we got ours... A fricken plastic **** on the SRT-6 runs $500... and tack on another $100 for labor for a certified technician to push the **** on with well-groomed and manicured fingers.
