Used a GPS for the first time
I have been looking to buy a GPS for some time now. Wal-Mart on line offered the Garmin Street Pilot C320 for $265.00. That is far cheaper that I have ever seen it so I bought it. It came with 128 Megs of memory in the form of an SD ram card like those that go in a camera. I could only load about four states with 128 meg card but I had an extra 256 Meg card laying around. I plugged it in and now I can fit nearly all the eastern US in it. I have found some 1 gig SD ram memory for under $30. I'll probably get one of those eventually and load the entire US in it.
I tried it out on top of Lookout Mt. TN/GA. If anyone has ever driven up there they will know that is very difficult to find your way around. I simply typed in several locations like Ruby Falls, Point Park, Rock City and the GPS took us right there. We later had the GPS take us to the Post Office and drug store on Lookout Mt.. We asked the GPS for a local restaurant but apparently the only restaurant up there wasn't in its data base. We got directions to the restaurant from one of the locals. After we got to the restaurant we saved that location in its data base.
I am very pleased with this unit and for $265 maybe somebody else may want one.
