I just bought the Garmin nuvi 360 a couple of weeks ago and I'm really impressed with it. The Bluetooth feature works great with my cell and it comes preloaded with the entire North America maps, points of interest, etc. Of course it cost about twice as much as you paid, but I can see where they would be invaluable for road trips.
