Does the fact that your car came from the dealer that your family owns has anything to do with this? How much did you pay for it or did you at all?
I too, had problems with my car that took almost 2 months to get fixed. Thats because the part took over a month and a half to get to the US.
I somehow doubt a dealership can hold on to a car for 8 months, even for a new transmission ...
