Well, if I can replace the stock head unit with a JVC aftermarket head unit, plugging it directly into the existing socket (I did swap 2 wires though) then I can't see any reason why one couldn't install a head unit from the SLK.
But then, I'm an electrical engineer and have been doing electrical design for 25 years. Let me know if you need any pointers, I'll be glad to help.
