Welcome to the forum DaveB, I think that you will find alot of useful information here about your new SRT-6. Going easy for the first 1,600 km is good advice, as is changing your oil and filter at that time also.
Since the Crossfire uses 0w40 weight synthetic motor oil, that means it's pretty much like water when you start the car up. Personally I think you can drive it as you normally would, even before it reaches normal operating temp. But of course, I'd still be gentle with it while building up speed.
I'm a firm believer in changing the oil and filter more often than the book recommends, and I think that it is even more important with the SRT-6 than it is with the standard engine like I have. But some people would argue that fact. Use your best judgment and let your style of driving, be the determining factors.
I wish I could join you in an SRT purchase, because they are selling over here at unbelievable low prices, and I'd like to get a new one while there are still some left. But I just can't afford one now.
Good Luck with yours!
