Vegas:
I also bought the travel adapter, and yuk.... But it turns out you still need it, so that money was not wasted!
I ordered the cell phone holder from crossfireshop.com ($30). Then I removed the holder for the garmin from the lead weights on the travel adapter. The screw holes almost line up which would have made this simple, but I had to enlarge them on the cell phone holder just a bit. I used a drill press, but a hand drill would work. Then I screwed the garmin holder to the cell phone braket, and finally installed the completed unit in the car. I routed the power cord under the console by just pulling it away from the carpet and pushing the cable under it.
There was a bit of "bounce" to the braket, so I placed a 3/4" felt pad under the bracket and against the dashboard. The felt pads are available at Lowes or Home Depot for about $1.
It took less than 1 hour to get this all modified and put together.
Glad you like it!
Hope this helps.
Oh, I almost forgot. On all the home improvement and car fixit shows, they always say how hard it was to do. I give this a

out of

on the difficulty scale.....
