Default Curb Rash

Like most of you, the wheels on the right side (for RHD think left) have some curb rash. I have tried polish and cleaner but the scratches right on the lip of the rim are visible even from 10' away.

Fortunately they are not dug into the side of the wheel, just along the bead by the tire.

I treated myself to a very nice cordless Dremel tool that uses Lithium ION batteries (they claim it will hold a charge for two years if not used). These batteries have no memory set so you can use it and then immediately place it back on the charger without shortening the charge life.

I used the wire brush to clean and smooth slightly the bead in the areas with the rash. For the first time use, it came out very well. I then used a polishing wheel with compoud to make it shine. If you get right on top of it (within 1-2 feet) you can just see the rash, but from 10 feet or so, it doesn't show.

If you have slight curb rash, this is the way to go.
