Default Re: Automatic or Manual?

Roadrunner6656, You've been given some excellent advice, and of course, alot of conflicting opinions. In the end, you're the one who's going to have to sort it all out, and decide just exactly what type of driving you "mostly" do, and just what it is you're looking for, and expect to get out of, the Crossfire.
Everybody has their own idea of what contitutes a true sports car, and what it takes to be called a "GT". Quite often the lines get crossed, and the real diffinition gets blurred. But the way I see it, if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, well........you get my point.
The automotive magazines have reported 1/4 mile times of nearly a 1/2 a second faster for a Limited with a 6spd. vs an automatic. My own personal "seat of the pants" opinion? The manual tranny just makes the car "feel" more responsive.
The Limited goes thru the slalom as fast or faster that alot of "true" sports cars costing 1000's more.
The Crossfire can cover vast distances at a very high rate of speed over a multitude of road conditions while its passengers stay comfortable, just like any good "GT" should do.
And the SRT-6 accomplishes all of the above, with an automatic trans, and true "muscle car" performance for those in need of an even greater adrenalin "rush".
I think I have a pretty good idea what a "sports car" is, and I think a Limited with a 6spd. covers all the neccessary bases to be called a sports car.
But with an automatic, I would consider it more of a GT.
An SRT? I would have to say is more of a sports/musclecar/GT, and probably the only way I would ever be truly satisfied with the Crossfire with an auto shifter.
Good Luck with what ever choice you make. All things considered, it's a Win,Win,Win, situation.
