My biggest question is what type of tires are people having the best luck with when it comes to performance. Mileage is not a huge factor, however I don't want to buy a new set of tires every 10k. My last car was an SRT-4 and I loved the BFG g-forces, right now I'm leaning that direction. Thanks.

Check your autoX rules... some tires will reclass the car... Best way to work on your competition is to look at the rules, modify your car to fit inside those rules for your class...
I like Hoosier R6 tires, but they cost me +10 points for modifications... and DOT R tires will probably upclass your car...
Try the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup... It's decent tire for AUTOX without getting dinged for upclassing points... Providing you do some serious heating before your events...
Here's the tires I recommend for AutoX:
Hoosier A6
Hankook Ventus Z214 C70 compound
Good luck with your season...
