Try Dronsfield Mercedes in Oldham on 01457 871717, they are breaking mercs so might have a return spring from an SLK, I'm just about to get some parts from them myself. Also try www.mercedesparts.co.uk on 0113 281 3672 and ask for Martin, they sorted me out with some engine gaskets very promptly. If you were nearer I would have taken a look for you since I will be rummaging around in the footwell tomorrow myself.
