It's good you did it hot, but if you had that long piece of Tygon tubing that connects between the Teflon tube and the metal lid it probably collapsed because of the heat and reduced your flow. What I did was remove all but and inch of the Tygon tubing for a coupling and butted the Teflon tube against the metal lid.
