I'm not an attorney but I believe that the owner of the mall could be potentially liable to what happened to your car. For example, grocery stores are definitely liable for what happens in their parking lots especially concerning shopping carts. Its almost funny how they have signs that contradict themselves, "we are not responsible for damage caused by shopping carts" and then another would say "please help keep prices down by putting away your shopping carts." You could consider filing a claim with their insurance company or talking to a lawyer. I am not sure how it is in NJ but you could possibly take them to small claims court too. Just trying help, I wish you the best of luck. It was not a good day for either of us yesterday but mines pales in comparison to your situation. I got the longest dent ever on my door and adjacent panel.
